"Why is it so hard to change the way I eat?" This was the question to which the author wanted to find the answer. The result is this little book.

About ten years ago I decided to change my diet. I was in the middle of a life crisis and had just listened to Mark Bittman's TED Talk "What's wrong with the food we eat ”. Bittman's message about how my personal health is linked to the health of the planet hit the spot and I began to change my diet.

About the same time I realised that my parents' health at the age of 63 left a lot to be desired. I decided I wanted to be in better shape the day I get to that age and so I intensified my research on diet and health. I fairly quickly found myself in "raw food country", happened to damage my cooker and started eating only raw food. Fruit and vegetables, nuts and seeds, wheat grass and beansprouts, herbs and algae.

It turned out to be easier said than done. The mental, emotional and bodily effects were certainly fascinating but most of all I was amazed how difficult it actually was, in the long run, to successfully change how I ate.

At the same time I formulated an answer to this question, "Why  is it so difficult to change how I eat ?”. I realised that the question was not just about food. The question was bigger. And the answer was of greater importance.

Why do we so rarely feel truly satisfied? Why do negative emotions so often dominate our lives? What can you do to be happy?

I work every day as a massage therapist, Pilates instructor and food coach. I spend my days trying to help people feel better and understand themselves better. This is my passion!

Few things are more rewarding for me than sitting with a blank piece of paper, listening to a new patient telling me about their situation and the help they need. Searching for external help is important but it is only when we really understand ourselves that we can bring about sustainable change.
